Analog Forever Magazine is proud to present “Film Friends," an online group exhibition debuting November 2023. This showcase will be expertly curated by found and publisher of Analog Forever, Michael Behlen!
To enter, all you need to do is read and respond to the prompt provided with your film or analog photography. The best of these images will be presented in an online show, launching November 13th, 2023. Good luck!
Prompt: As I reflect on the profound connections and relationships that I have forged through the world of film and analog photography, I have realised that beyond the photographs themselves, many of us have discovered that this medium has been the catalyst for fulfilling and enriching community and personal relationships. These bonds uplift us, transforming us into the artists we've always aspired to be, with the added benefit of encouragement, critique, compassion, or a partner in crime.
I want to see your most evocative photographs made with film and analog processes that showcase your best film friend. As you choose your submission, remember the significance of the relationships you've built through this medium. If your image is selected for this exhibition, ensure it truly represents that bond without causing envy among your other film friends. Good luck!

ABOUT THE CURATOR
Michael Behlen is an instant film addict and the founder and publisher of Analog Forever Magazine. Behlen is an obsessive community organizer in the film photography world, including previously launching the independent publishing projects PRYME Magazine and PRYME Editions, two enterprises dedicated to the art of instant film. Through these endeavors, he has featured and published 250+ artists from around the globe via his print and online publications.
He has self-published two Polaroid photobooks -“Searching for Stillness, Vol. 1” and “I Was a Pioneer,” literally a boxed set of his instant film work. His latest book, Searching for Stillness Vol II was published in 2020 by Static Age.
Behlen’s Polaroid photography can be found in various publications including Diffusion Magazine, Fraction Magazine, Seities Magazine, and Polaroid Now (Chronicle Books, 2021). He loves the magic sensuality of instant film: its saturated, surreal colors; the unpredictability of the medium; its addictive qualities as you watch it develop. He spends his time shooting instant film and backpacking in the California wilderness, usually a combination of the two.

Submission Guidelines:
Image Specifications:
1) Only .jpg files will be accepted.
2) Images must be 1500px on the shortest side at 72dpi.
3) No photo-shopped borders or watermarks.
4) Only one image may be submitted.
5) Image must be named in the following format: “FirstNameLastName1.jpg”, etc.
Email Specifications:
1) The subject line of your email should state: "Film Friends”
2) Please ATTACH your images to the email NOT INSIDE the email. Do not embed them. Do not attach a google drive or dropbox link.
3) Include your information in the format requested (see below).
4) Format Request: “Title” by Your Name | Camera + Film, Process - Your URL
